Vaginal bleeding that lasts 2 weeks is usually not normal. That bleeding could be prolonged menstruation (menorrhagia) or may not be connected with the period (metrorrhagia). Birth control pills rarely cause irregular bleeding . They are usually given to prevent irregular bleeding if due to functional reasons. Irregular bleeding can also be due to organic reasons like genital infections, tumors (benign or malignant), endometriosis, endometrial hyperplasia, placental residua after delivery, injuries or systemic disorders that decrease blood coagulation ability.

You SHOULD consult your gynecologist as soon as possible!
