i have noticed in the past few months that
about a week after my cycle, i have a
white, creamy discarge that has a wierd
smell to it. My boyfriend of 8 months
notices it when we have sex. We have sex
a few times a week, and there is no pain,
or itching of my vagina. It comes and
goes from month to month, i have blood
tests nearly every month for my anemia and
these test are for everything. They have
not come back with results for sti“s.
About 3 months ago i had a urine
infection, which caused pain when i peed
but it was treated with a course of
tablets and i have had no problems since.
I am concerned about this smell not only
because it is embarassing (although my
boyfriend is not discusted, only
supportive). I feel embarassed to take
off my underwear as it sometimes has a
smelly discarge in them.
I know this is not thrush, and would
appreciate any ideas on what this may
be

A creamy discharge with unpleasant smell
from the vagina could indicate the
presence of a vaginal infection. Vaginal
infections (colpitis) can not be detected
with blood tests. To identify any vaginal
infection you need a microbiological
examination of a sample taken from the
vagina.
You may want to consult your gynecologist
about this.
