Vaginal infections , lost periods , and Depo-shot Posted: 07-04-08 10:46am
I want to know how long the symptoms will
last after I finish the monistat
treatment. I don't itch as much since I
started it, but the swelling and some
burning as well as general discomfort are
still present, along with the little
bumps. I don't think that this could be an
std. I have been with 2 people; when I was
with the first, we were both virgins. He
had slept with someone else and then with
me again, but that was over 10 months ago.
My current boyfriend has been tested for
everything and all has come back negative.
Also, I have another question. While
filling out the gynecology data, I was
asked about my menstrual cycle. I have
been on the depo shot for 3 years now, and
I haven't menstruated for a very long
time... maybe 1 and a half years? maybe
two? I don't remember when my last cycle
was. I'm not sure if I still have hormonal
changes once a month... I haven't noticed
any differences. I was wondering if that
is normal with the depo shot, or if it
caused some sort of damage

Current medical status: I think it's a
yeast infection; I have swelling, itching,
burning, and little tiny bumps that are
NOT open or puss filled.
Current medical treatment: I have not seen
a physician for this, but have been using
monistat, the 3 day treatment, and am 2/3
the way through it.
Given your symptoms you obviously have a
vaginal infection but it is hard to say
which one without a vaginal examination
and tests.
Vaginal yeast infections are treated for 3
days with vaginal suppositories.
It is normal to lose your periods while on
depo-shot. People react differently while
on depo-shot. Certain people lose their
periods while others have irregular cycles
and different people may even have regular
periods. All those episodes are not real
periods but withdrawal bleeding.
