What? No pictures?!

I'm gonna guess she'll be here at 39.5 wks. But won't be surprised if she shows up late for her birthday at 41.5wks Very Happy

Not being dilated at this stage doesn't mean anything. Some women don't dilate until they're in labour, & even then it doesn't necessarily mean they'll have a long labour. Over here, midwives & doctors don't do internal examinations until labour has begun (unless there's a problem with the pregnancy, like bleeding etc.) because they're not a very reliable method of knowing when a woman will have her baby. A woman can be 3cm dilated & 90% effaced for weeks before she gives birth.. & on the other hand a woman can go from being tight closed & barely effaced to ready to push within a matter of hours. Everyone's different Smile

Yeah, right now it's not a huge deal if you're not dilating yet. You're still 4 weeks from your due date, so it's to be expected really - especially with your first pregnancy. With my first pregnancy I was only dilated to 1 at 40 weeks.

I was barely dilated and then my water broke at 37 weeks. You never know what is going to happen. That is the awesome thing about pregnancy and your body. It can change in an instant.

There's no purpose of exams before you go into labor. I still don't know why they do them. My friend was 4cm since 32wks and she gave birth at 41.5wks. It means absolutely nothing, it's just a number and each time your chance for infection increases, especially once your water is broken. Every woman is different, you can go from 0-10 in a few hours, or 5 to 10 in a few days. Checking intermediately doesn't mean if you are 7 now you will have a baby soon or in a few hours. Someone explain why they do checks at 36wks if there's no sign of labor?

Sorry, rant over.

lol thanks guys, yeah my teacher told me his wife wasn't even dilated at all, and the next day gave birth. So, I'm just getting tired of being pregnant, it feels like its lasted for years.

I'm surprised you got an internal exam as well. I haven't had one my entire pregnancy and my doctor said she won't do one unless there's a complication or i'm in labour. Heck even for the group b strep swab thingy she didn't even do it, i just had to take it to the bathroom and give it back to her! So i've been able to keep my privates to myself lol

I wouldn't worry too much about not being dilated. She'll come when she's ready and by that point i'm sure you'll be MORE then ready Smile Enjoy being pregnant, I already know it's something i'm going to miss
