8 Weeks Pregneceny And No Heart Beat Can Someone Help Posted: 07-15-04 13:32pm
Hi there my wife and I have found out she
was pregnet. After the 6 week mark we
started telling some close friends that
she was pregnet.
I had begun to say yeah we are shooting
for twins. This past wedsnday we went
to the first u/s scan and we were told
that she has two babys.
We are very very excited about this but
when the doctor tried to find a heart beat
they could not. They told us that they
are small for the amount of weeks she
states that she has been pregnet for.
Maybe there is a miscalulation on the
weeks of pregnecy the doctor stated.
They measured 7 mm. The doctor said we
will have to come back next friday to find
out what going on. If there is no heart
beat they would like to do a dnc is this
common or should we get a second opinion
after next week if there is no heart beat.
I am stressing out . Thanks so much

Until a few weeks ago I would have replied
that a dnc was required - & it is if
the test is accurate - but 2 cases here
recently (& where there have been 2 -
I wonder how many there have been that we
never heard of because the people were
never told the horrible truth of the
mistakes that ere made) where women were
told that their babies had died in utero
but for whatever reason these 2 women
(different cities & drs etc) "felt"
they wanted to double & in one case
triple check@!! They were in fact
pregnant still one of the babies hs since
been born & is fine.
So please get a 2nd check done preferably
by another dr at another centre so sa to
reduce chances of them just agreeing with
the first results!!

I was reading through the forums and found
your post. I have a friend with a
similar problem. If you do not mind me
asking how did that turn out ? We are so
nervous just waiting to see what happens.
I wish they could do something quicker.
Well if you answer this maybe you will put
our minds at ease , but either way would
be a help . Thanks
ps. Do you have twins in the family , I
heard its the mans side that passes the
gene , but im not sure if thats true
