when can i take a pregnancy test Posted: 03-06-08 11:09am
Hi...
not sure when i can take a pregnancy
test...would appreciate any advice.
On tues (2 days ago) me and my husband had
unprotected sex (accidentally - split
condom).
I reckon my period was due yesterday (wed)
and has still not arrived (thurs)
I realise this was not in my 'fertile'
period, but i am still, very panicked, and
the fact my period has not arrived is
scaring me. They say you can take a test
once your period is late - but since this
is only 2days after possible conception,
it feels too early.
How soon can i take a test? Days or weeks?
I can't get this off my mind and am very
worried.
Thanks

You can take a pregnancy test 14 days
after the last time you had unprotected
sex, so if you had sex two days ago, I
would wait at least 12 more days before
taking one. Make sure to use your first
morning urine.

a more accurate reading would be if you
tested 4 days before your period begins,
or when you miss your period. with morning
urine.
