Will surgery help my lazy eye? Posted: 03-30-08 23:42pm
I have had a lazy eye since I can
remember. I don't know if I was born with
it, or if it developed later in life.
Here are how my eyes work
I can control both eyes and make them
appear as they are working together. This
causes some pain and sever blurring. I am
trying to concentrate now and I am having
a hard time seeing to type this. If I am
not focusing I can see just fine.
I have read allot of posts about people
who couldn't play sports with smaller
balls such as baseball, but I only had
this problem hitting. I can throw
accurate, shoot accurate, catch with no
problem.
My vision is my right eye is 20:40 and my
left is 20:140 and together I can't
hardly see.
I am 29 years old, and would like to for
once in my life to look normal and not
have people look at me like I am a freak
of nature. I have never dated, and am
afraid to ask women out. I don't feel
worthy. (yes, I know that if they feel
differently about me that is their
problem) (but this doesn't help me)
Please, any advise you are willing to
share, would be great. I do not have
medical insurance so I am going to have to
pay out of pocket when and if I ever go.
Given the fact that I can control my eye,
does this make the chances of a successful
surgery anymore likely.
