36wk pregnancy checkup Posted: 03-25-08 20:58pm
Hubby kinda got on me before going in, so
I was half crying when I went in. At least
it turned out good though.
So I'm emotional, they call me back and
have me pee like always. For some reason
that was difficult, couldn't tell if I was
hitting the cup or not, lol. So I pick up
the cup to put my name on it, part nerves
part clumsiness causes me to spill it! All
over the floor, all over my shirt, pants
and hair tie on my wrist. So I spend 10
minutes cleaning it up and crying.
Anyway, went to get weighed, no one was
there. So I weighed myself and it was
around 237. But when my doc checked it, it
was 247. I like the digital scales
better... But that was an 8lb jump, which
of course made her SO happy...
Checked my BP... 173/110 So she ran right
away to check my pee, came back good for
protein, and she kept saying how shocked
she was about that. So she sent me to the
hospital for a NST.
Get there, pants and shirt are dried up
almost instantly (I think it's less humid
in the big open hospital). SO they have me
walk back to the 'Baby Wing' as she called
it. Why is it always the furthest walk
from the front door? Oh well. I was told
they were going to do a culture, so I was
expecting the whole thing. Needless to say
I was happy when they just swabbed around
down there, lol.
Got the moniters hooked up. I love hearing
baby's heartbeat! I LOVE the rooms too,
very 'homey'. They gave me the remote, but
I kept it muted because I was enjoying the
heartbeat. The took my BP 3 times, and the
last time was 133/72. Baby's heartbeat
went from 130ish to 160ish. Not sure if I
had any contractions though.
It was kinda a reality check that I'm
gonna be giving birth soon! They had two
posters, one had the dilation progression
illustrated on it, and one had the stages
of labor on it, lol. Also they had a HUGE
digital clock above the bed. Only 4 more
weeks!!!
Sorry so long, just wanted to tell
someone!

Sounds like something I would do
Or have I? I'm
glad things turned out ok. A high blood
pressure is a scary thing in pregnancy.
Truth is, stress can raise is. I can't
belive you're getting so close! He/she's
gonna be here before ya know it!
Aww I'm glad you enjoyed your NST.. by
about 35 weeks I was having two of those a
week & I had to go through most of my
labour strapped to the monitor. That isn't
fun, believe me. But I did love hearing my
baby's heartbeat!
You're so close now.. you'll soon have
your little one in your arms

We still don't know what it is, but every
wive's tale is conflicting, lol. Chinese
says boy, ring test girl. and the
heartbeat fluctuated so much, can't say if
it's boy or girl from it. Oh well, I'll
know soon!!!
