37 wks update & pic Posted: 03-26-08 00:16am
I had my 37 week dr. appt. last Friday,
& I'm 1 cm dilated, 30% effaced. I was
right, he did drop! I've been having
lots of contractions, & hip pain. My
little guy is def. getting ready to make
his debut.
Now for the good news/bad news... I get
another ultrasound! ...but it's because
I'm only measuring at 33 weeks! My doctor is
sending me in for another ultrasound &
the tech. called today & scheduled the
soonest available day, next Monday, 03/31
at 2:00 p.m. So now I will be worried
about our precious baby boy until then.
4-5 wks behind just seems like suchh a
bigg deal... I have another dr. appt. this
Friday, 03/28 at 4:00 p.m., so hopefully I
will measure right on, or atleast closer
than last week...
Here's my little guy still cozy inside
mommy at 37 weeks!

that's weird... my 37wk appt is 3/31 at
2pm... how strange is that?!
You look big for measuring 33wks! Is that
just from measuring your tummy? Don't
worry about it, you still have 3 more
weeks!
Try not to worry too much.. I measured
about 4 weeks behind towards the end &
even though my little girl was small (only
5lbs) she was perfectly healthy. The
doctors induced me at 37 weeks because
she'd stopped growing in the womb.
I'm sure everything will be fine.. let us
know how your ultrasound goes! You look
great by the way

I'm going in Friday for my 37 week appt
too! I am having my StrepB test done, and
they also said they'll check to see if
dialation has started. I'm nervous. I
don't do well with pap tests, it's a
mental thing. I get all freaked out, so
hopefully I won't be too bad.
I'm sure your babe will be fine. My belly
is about the same size as yours in that
picture.
your baby will be fine, if they thought
otherwise they would have induced

Thanks girls. For the two of you that have
dr. appt.'s, I wish you luck. Getting
checked for dilation can be a bit
uncomfortable, but it's all worth it to
know if & how much you progressing.
BUT... don't get discouraged if you don't
show progress (especially if this is your
first pregnancy), it doesn't mean
everything. You could be 0cm, 0% effaced
& still go into labor -or- you could
you show absolutely no progress one week,
& be a whole 2cm, 75% effaced (just
for example) just the next week! I'm
trying not to worry to much about my
little guy, he's still extremely active
(to the point of pain ),
so I'm sure he's just fine. The only
explanation I could really find online, is
IUGR (when the baby stops growing inside
the mother's uterus), which sounds like
another one of you explained happening to
your daughter... I would just hate to have
to be induced... again! BUT... if it's for
my baby's health, then I'm all for it!

yea, my sister was completely closed one
day, three days later she was in labor for
a whole 6 hours, pushed 5 times, and it
was over. First baby too. I'm so jealous,
my luck I'll be in labor for 48 hours and
end up with a C-Section. I doubt it
though, my doctor is really CS crazy.
I had my StrepB test done, and I was SO
happy they didn't have to go inside. I
think I'd rather have a hand than a duck
bill up there...
