When did you have to stop working?

I hate staying home and so far have only missed a couple of days of work (when I was in the hospital and told to rest) but other then that nothing. People keep asking me if i'm still working or not and i'm thinking "uhh of course i'm working! I'm pregnant not handicapped why wouldn't I be able to work until I pretty much go into labour?" My work suggested I start maternity leave in November but I don't see why I should have to. I'm not due till the middle of december and I love working and could especially use the money. Apparenlty if I want to work past November I need to provide them with a note from my doctor saying it's safe. Anyone else had anything like this happen? I plan on working pretty much until I go into labour or its impossible

Barring complications, you can work up until the day you deliver. How comfortable you'll be is another issue altogether. If you have a job where you're on your feet a lot or have to do physical work or a lot of bending/stretching, you might find that you're more willing to take off a few weeks before the birth. Or it might not bother you at all!

My last pregnancy I had complications with my hip, and because I had a full-time job that was spend 90% of the time on my feet, I took off halfway through my 7th month. My job now thankfully is much kinder on me physically, so I'm hoping to work until at least the beginning of December.

I just put my notice in at work and my last day will be August 29th. Im quitting b/c I plan on staying home after Brayden is here and we still have WAY to much stuff to get done. I know a lot of women have worked though up until the week they deliver. It depends on if your having any complications or not. I think most women also take the last couple weeks off to prep and rest also. Depends on what you want to do. If your dr. says its safe for you, then why not?? I love my job, but like i said...we have a lot to do to the house before he gets here.
