Worried About My Dad!!!
Posted: 09-30-06 20:07pm

I'm not sure this goes here, but maybe someone can help. I went to see my dad today, he just turned 50. Well anyway, he told me today that he had scabies, but they gave him some cream for it. I think he said it's gone now, but anyway, I thought that people who git scabies weren't "clean"? I think he got it from his dumb*ss wife. She's sp sleasy. She's nasty too. Anyway, he told me that he has infections he thinks is from the scabies. He's on antiboctiocs. Well, here's the thing i'm worried about, he has these sores all over him. He said he had one on his butt cheek, that was like 8-10 inches long. He went to the doctor and the drained the sore or whatever, and it looks like the other sore are healing. He also told me that he wakes up and his clothes are all wet, from sweating while he's sleeping. And then he get chills. Is that from the scabies, or the medicine he's one? And the medicine he's one makes him feel sick to his stomache, and he can barely go to work. So I feel so bad that I can't help him. So if anyone has any info on all this please respond. I'm just really worried that it could be something else. And he really hasn't been to the doctor, he went to the er for the scabies, but they didn't do any blood work or anything like that. So any info please

Okay I can address two of your questions

1. Chills/sweats are actually a part of menopause older men also suffer from a form of menopause and that is normal

2. Antibiotice will make you stomach sore, side effects range from diarrhea, nauseau minor vomiting, headaches ect, to counteract this stomach problem he should be eating a yogurt a day.

Antibiotics remove all bacteria, even the ones that are digestive system needs, yogurt is a probiotic, meaning it restores/balances the good bacteria not right away mind you!

the word "scabies" makes people cringe and their flesh crawl. Just hearing it can produce itching.

In fact, scabies is a fairly uncommon and easily treated condition that isn't even all that contagious, except in special circumstances such as in nursing homes.

Most people with scabies are just as clean and hygienic as anybody else. Dirt has nothing to do with it!

another that could be happening it may not even by scabies, usually scabie are similar to lice and you would use the same thing to be rid oflice as scabies usually

other things that cause similar reactions that are curable and I suffer from one

>eczema
>psorias(i think thats the speeling
>ring worm

most of these just require a topical ointment, I suffer from eczema on my hands and face and its itcy as hell as well leaves large lesions/rashes

btw scabies is not a sexually transmitted diesease, it is just caught by close(long mind you contact) as in a mom hugging her child or by sexual contact

Hi sherry 24! You can google scabies. They are a very itchy little mite that can hardly be seen. My step-grandmother had them while in a rest home and we brought her home and treated her. I do not remember the sweating but it has been a while ago. I do hope your .Dad gets better soon and remember that you can always get a second opinion.
My thoughts are with you because I know that .Dad's are special!
