I've been on yaz for about a year now. And
every month I've gotten my period. This
month I haven't gotten it and me and my
boyfriend just had unprotected sex a week
before I should of started my period.
Should I be worried?

What do you consider unprotected sex?
Have you been taking your pill on time?
If you have sex without a condom, as long
as you are taking your pill on time every
day then you are still 99% protected. It
is common to skip your period when on
birth control, and sometimes it just
happens. However, if you are worried you
can take a pregnancy test to ease your
mind and figure things out. There is
still always that, although rare, 1%
chance that it failed. I would wait two
weeks and take a test. Good luck!

I consider unprotected sex not using a
condom. I have been taking my pill around
the same time. My only worry is that
skipping my period because it's never
happened to me before. I do plan on taking
a pregnancy test. Thank you very much for
your help!

Since you are taking your pill around the
same time, you are about 99% protected.
It is always scary when skipping a period
because we are taught that means
pregnancy. Skipping a period on the pill
isn't too uncommon, though. I would try
not to worry too much and definitely take
a pregnancy test just to ease your mind.
Good luck
